...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 8 PM THIS EVENING TO
8 AM PDT THURSDAY...
HOT WEATHER ALONG WITH VERY LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITIES ARE FORECAST
ACROSS MUCH OF THE AREA THIS WEEK AS A STRONG RIDGE OF HIGH
PRESSURE BUILDS OVER CALIFORNIA. MINIMUM DAYTIME HUMIDITIES ABOVE
1000 FEET WILL RANGE FROM 5 TO 15 PERCENT AND NIGHTTIME RECOVERIES
PROBABLY WILL NOT EXCEED 20 PERCENT IN SOME OF THE DRIEST AREAS.
LOCALLY MODERATE AND GUSTY NORTHWEST TO NORTHEAST WINDS ARE LIKELY
FROM THIS EVENING THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING. THESE WEATHER CONDITIONS
ARE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING A DANGEROUS FIRE WEATHER SITUATION.
GRADUAL IMPROVEMENT IS EXPECTED BY THE END OF THE WEEK AND INTO
THE UPCOMING WEEKEND.
A RED FLAG WARNING MEANS THAT CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS
ARE EITHER OCCURRING NOW...OR WILL SHORTLY. A COMBINATION OF
STRONG WINDS...LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY...AND WARM TEMPERATURES WILL
CREATE EXPLOSIVE FIRE GROWTH POTENTIAL.
